Charles Brindamour , Chief Executive Officer

Charles Brindamour is Chief Executive Officer of Intact Financial Corporation. Under his leadership, the Company became an independent and widely-held Canadian company in 2009 and engineered, two years later, the acquisition of AXA Canada Inc. Mr. Brindamour began his career with Intact in 1992 as an actuary and held a number of progressive management positions in St-Hyacinthe and Toronto. He also served in management and executive roles in Europe with ING Groep, the Company’s former majority shareholder. Upon his return to Canada in 1999, he led the company’s acquisition, strategic planning and capital management functions. Two years later he became Senior Vice President of Personal Lines and, in 2004, he was appointed Executive Vice President, responsible for underwriting, claims, planning, corporate development and investor relations. In 2007, he became Chief Operating Officer, a position he held until his appointment as President and CEO in January 2008. A graduate of Laval University, in Actuarial Sciences. Mr. Brindamour is also an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society. Mr. Brindamour is a board member of Intact Financial Corporation and of the C.D. Howe Institute, Chair of the Board of the Insurance Bureau of Canada, and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Climate Change Adaptation Project, an initiative of the University of Waterloo. Mr. Brindamour is a member of the Campaign Cabinet of the CHU Sainte-Justine. He is a past member of the Campaign Cabinet of the United Way of Greater Toronto and he chaired a number of its campaigns among the insurance industry.

Louis Gagnon , President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Gagnon was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Intact Financial Corporation in September 2011. In this role, Mr. Gagnon oversees claims and information technology, two areas that are key touch points to the customers’ and brokers’ experience. He is also responsible for the company’s investments in distribution and its international growth initiatives. He also oversees strategy development, communications and audit. Before assuming this current role, Mr. Gagnon was President of Intact Insurance from 2008 to 2011. He joined Intact Insurance as Senior Vice-President, Québec division in January 2007. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Gagnon was heading a successful brokerage, with offices in Québec and Ontario, and was active within the provincial and national brokers’ associations. After working several years in the banking and consulting businesses, Mr. Gagnon began his insurance career in 1992. Between 2001 and 2006 he held several positions in various brokerage firms, including that of President of Inovesco. Mr. Gagnon was a member of the board of directors of the Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec (RCCAQ); he held the position of President of the RCCAQ from 2005 to 2006. During the same period he also acted as Director of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada. Mr. Gagnon earned a B.A. in Economic Science from the Université de Montréal and an MBA from the University of Ottawa.

Jean-François Blais , President, Intact Insurance

Mr. Blais was named President of Intact Insurance in September 2011 after leading all aspects of AXA’s operations in Canada for seven years as President and Chief Executive Officer and Director. Mr. Blais has been in the insurance business for more than 20 years. He began his career in 1988 as an Actuary with AXA Canada. In 1996, he was appointed Vice President, Underwriting and Personal Lines and, in 2000 Executive Vice President of AXA Assurances in Quebec. In 2004 he became President and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Canada and was also named to the company’s Board of Directors. He held these positions until his appointment as President of Intact Insurance. Mr. Blais also sat on the Board of Directors of the Insurance Bureau of Canada from 2004 to 2011. A graduate of Université Laval in Actuarial Science, Mr. Blais is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Marc Pontbriand , President, Direct to Consumers Distribution

As President of Direct to Consumers Distribution, Mr. Pontbriand is responsible for the operations of belairdirect and Grey Power. Since joining the Company in 1998, he has held a number of senior positions within our insurance subsidiaries and at the corporate level. Prior to assuming his current role in 2011, Mr. Pontbriand was Executive Vice-President, overseeing our activities in the areas of Claims and Information Technology. Mr. Pontbriand was also Senior Vice-President and Chief Information Officer from 2004 to 2008 and Vice-President Broker Services for the Montréal Region from 2002 to 2004. Mr. Pontbriand also held a number of positions in Sales, Claims, Underwriting and Operations at belairdirect. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Pontbriand was Vice-President, Customer Service for a major communications service provider. He is a graduate of the École Polytechnique de Montréal and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

Mark A. Tullis , Senior Vice President,
Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining the Company in January 2006, Mr. Tullis was President of Institutional Businesses of ING Americas, and has held several other senior executive positions since joining ING Americas in September 1999. Prior to joining the ING group of companies, Mr. Tullis was Executive Vice-President and Chief Actuary with Primerica, a subsidiary of Citigroup, from 1994 to 1999, where he was responsible for financial reporting, actuarial functions and reinsurance functions in connection with various Primerica companies. Mr. Tullis has more than 30 years experience in senior positions within the insurance industry. Mr. Tullis holds a Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences degree. Mr. Tullis served as a director of the Company’s federal P&C insurance subsidiaries from 2000 to the beginning of 2006.

Marc Provost , Senior Vice President, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer, Intact Investment Management Inc.

Mr. Provost has been Senior Vice-President, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of IIM since 2005. Prior to that, he was Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer of IIM. From 2001 to 2004 he was Vice-President, Canadian Equity Market at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. Mr. Provost has been involved in the investment industry since 1983. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Université de Montréal’s École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC), where he received the Loewen Ondaatje Scholarship for academic excellence. He received his Institute of Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D) in 2010.

Claude Désilets , Senior Vice President,
Chief Risk Officer

Mr. Désilets joined the Company in November 1989 and has held the position of Appointed Actuary of the P&C Companies at the Company since January 1993. He was named Chief Risk Officer of the Company in January 2007. Before joining the Company, he occupied various actuarial functions for two Canadian property and casualty insurance companies. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Désilets also taught actuarial science at l’Université de Montréal. Mr. Désilets graduated from l’Université Laval (Québec) in 1982 with a Bachelor of Actuarial Sciences degree and is a Fellow of both the Casualty Actuarial Society and Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Lucie Martel , Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

Lucie Martel became Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Intact Financial Corporation in September 2011. In her current role, she is responsible for Intact's human resource strategies, policies and programs. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Martel was a Senior Vice President at AXA Canada. She has more than 30 years’ experience in strategic management of human resources and labour relations, with corporations including Laurentian Bank (where she was Vice President, Human Resources Management and Development), Direct Film and Uniroyal. Ms. Martel has a degree in Industrial Relations from Université de Montréal. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Société des alcools du Québec and chairs the human resources committee.

Françoise Guénette , Senior Vice President, Corporate and Legal Services and Secretary

Ms. Guénette has held her current positions that include compliance since joining the Company in 1997; in addition, she was responsible for Risk Management from 2004 to the beginning of 2007 and is Chair of the Disclosure Committee. She has also chaired the Institutional Litigation and Regulatory Committee since 2001. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Guénette was the Chief General Counsel and Head of Corporate Services for a number of different corporations, including a large bank and a financial group in Canada. She also taught insurance at l’Université de Montréal. She was Governor of l’Université du Québec from 1988 to 1992 and held various positions at the Conservation and Environmental Board of the Province of Québec between 1988 and 1993, including being Chair from 1992 to 1993. She is currently a director of l’Université de Montréal. Ms. Guénette has a law degree from McGill University, and is a member of the Québec Bar and the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Pete Weightman , President, BrokerLink

Mr. Weightman is President of BrokerLink. Since joining the company more than 20 years ago, he has held number of leadership positions in both Canada and the United States. Prior to his current appointment, he was Senior Vice-President, Claims, where he was responsible for delivering an industry leading claims experience to IFC customers. Previously, he was Senior Vice-President, Commercial Lines where he was responsible for the development and delivery of Intact’s commercial lines strategy including underwriting, commercial lines pricing, and product development. Mr. Weightman earned a BSc in Business Administration and an MSc in Business Education from Illinois State University. He holds a number of professional designations including CPCU, CLU, ChFC and FLMI. He completed the Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in 2006.

Jack Ott , Senior Vice President,
Chief Information Technology Officer

Jack Ott is the Senior Vice-President and Chief Information Officer at Intact Financial Corporation. Prior to his appointment, he was Vice President of Applications Development. He was responsible for providing IT services to the company’s Central and Atlantic Region, as well as supporting national systems for Claims, Commercial Lines, Personal Lines and Data Warehousing. Prior to its acquisition, Mr. Ott was Senior Vice President and CIO of Allianz Canada. He joined the company in 2005 and played an important role in the successful integration of the Information Technology teams of the two companies. He has overseen the implementation of a new Claims system at Intact and championed the development of key projects to support Intact’s distribution strategy. Previously, Mr. Ott worked in the Information Technology group at Munich Reinsurance (Canadian Life Branch). There he progressed through various leadership roles before assuming overall responsibility for IT in 1991. In 1997 he moved to Allianz Canada. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and studied Business Administration at Ryerson Polytechnic University. He is active in the community and served on the Foundation Cabinet of George Brown College.

Byron Hindle , Senior Vice President, International Business Development

Mr. Hindle was appointed Senior Vice President, International Business Development in September 2011. In this role, Mr. Hindle leads Intact Financial Corporation’s international expansion efforts. Mr. Hindle began his career at Intact in 2001 as Vice-President, Personal Lines Underwriting, Central and Atlantic Division. He has since assumed a number of other leadership positions including an international assignment with Nationale-Netherlanden, where he was responsible for developing market propositions in the Dutch and Belgian markets. In 2006 he returned to the company and in 2008 he became Senior Vice President, Commercial Lines. Mr. Hindle is a broadly experienced insurance industry executive with particular strength in combining marketing knowledge with economic inferences and actuarial assumptions. Byron holds a M.Sc., Economics, from the London School of Economics. Prior to this he also completed a B.A. Economics (Honours), at the University of Regina and a B. Business Administration (Distinction), at the University of Saskatchewan.

Mathieu Lamy , Senior Vice President,
Claims

Mr. Lamy was appointed Senior Vice President, Claims, in September 2011. In this role, he has overall responsibility for claims operations across the country. Until this latest appointment, Mr. Lamy led AXA Canada’s property and casualty insurance operations in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces as Executive Vice President. Mr. Lamy joined AXA in 1989, working in the Actuarial department. In 1996, he joined the Ontario and Atlantic Underwriting team, where he eventually became Vice President, Underwriting Personal Lines. Mr. Lamy was named to the position of Executive Vice President of AXA Insurance (Canada) and AXA General Insurance in 2001. Mr. Lamy is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Laval University.

Alan Blair , Senior Vice President,
Atlantic Canada

Alan Blair is Senior Vice President for Intact Insurance in Atlantic Canada. He joined the Wellington Insurance Company in 1984 and took on roles in claims, marketing, business development and business unit management. He became Branch Manager of the Wellington Office in London, Ontario until he was appointed Regional Vice President, Southwestern Ontario, based in London in 1995. In the last 10 years, Alan oversaw the business integration of the Wellington, Guardian, Zurich and Allianz insurance companies in Southwestern Ontario. During his tenure in the region, revenues grew from $16 million to $225 million. In July 2005, Alan accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Atlantic Region, responsible for the development of the staff, brokers and all lines of business in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI. Alan quickly became active in the local insurance community, joining the Insurance Bureau of Canada’s Atlantic Committee. Mr. Blair holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from University of Toronto and proceeded with Management Studies in the University of Michigan Executive Education Program.

Debbie Coull-Cicchini , Senior Vice President,
Ontario

Debbie Coull-Cicchini accepted a position with Intact Insurance Company of Canada in February 2005 to lead the Ontario Division and is currently Senior Vice-President, Ontario. She is responsible for the performance of Ontario in all lines of the Property and Casualty business. This role also encompasses the Marketing, Human Resources and Finance areas for Ontario. Previously, Debbie spent seventeen years in various senior management roles with CIBC Branch Banking in the Greater Toronto Area. Her experience in retail banking led to her next role as Vice President and National Sales Leader with President’s Choice Financial. After spending two years with President’s Choice Financial, Debbie expanded her retail banking experience into the United States with the appointment to Senior Vice-President of AMICUS Bank. She spent four years at AMICUS Bank with their U.S. Pre-Launch team in Orlando, New Business team in Virginia and led the operations of Safeway Select Bank in San Francisco. Continuing her US experience, Debbie worked with First National Bank of Pennsylvania as Executive Vice-President of Retail Banking, Wealth Management and Marketing from 2003 to 2004. Debbie holds a BA in Economics from McMaster University in Hamilton and an MBA from the University of Toronto.

Denis Garneau , Senior Vice President,
Quebec

Denis Garneau has been involved in the P&C insurance industry since 1984. After a few years acting as an analyst in the actuarial department of a major carrier, he was involved in various management positions related to customer service operations, business development and strategic projects. He left the insurance industry to lead the warranty department of Bombardier Recreational Products for three years. In 1999, he returned to the insurance business and accepted a position with a new management team of another large corporation. There he led pricing, underwriting, and product development strategies for the Quebec division. Thereafter, he spent more than two years in executive roles in the brokerage distribution network. Mr. Garneau joined the company in 2003 where he took on the position of Vice-President Customer Services, Claims and Development. In 2004, he became Vice-President of the Quebec operations for the direct channel. In 2006, he was appointed Vice-President Claims, Quebec, for Intact Insurance. Most recently, in December 2008, Mr. Garneau became the Senior Vice-President for Intact Insurance, Quebec Division. He is responsible for the management and growth of this division. Through the implementation of new business development strategies, he will be able to continue improving business processes and strengthening broker relationships. Between 2004 and 2007, Mr. Garneau was elected member of the Board of Directors of la Chambre de l’assurance de dommages (ChAD) and held the position of President of the Board from 2006 to 2007. Mr. Garneau holds a BSc in actuarial sciences from Laval University in Quebec City and an MBA from Montreal University (HEC).

Jennie Moushos , Senior Vice President,
Western Canada

Jennie Moushos has been leading the activities of Intact Insurance in Western Canada since February 2012. Prior to joining Intact in the Fall of 2011 as Deputy Senior Vice President, Western Canada, Ms. Moushos was the Executive Vice President of AXA Pacific Insurance Company, a position that she held since 2003. In that role she assumed the responsibility for all business operations of AXA Canada in Western Canada, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. Ms. Moushos joined AXA Canada in 1995 where she served in various senior roles following five years in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. Ms. Moushos is a Certified Management Accountant and a Chartered Accountant. She has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Concordia University and a Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University. Ms. Moushos was a co-founder of the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade, BC Chapter and Co-Chair of the WICC BC Steering Committee from 2004 to 2006. She was also a member of an industry task force promoting the development of an Insurance and Risk Management Program at the BC Institute of Technology.

Martin Beaulieu , Senior Vice President,
Personal Lines

Martin Beaulieu is the Senior Vice-President Personal Lines for Intact Insurance. In this role, Mr. Beaulieu is responsible for the growth and quality of the personal lines portfolio (written premiums of $2.8 billion) and the company’s government relation activities. He was the Vice-President, Reinsurance from 1996 to 1998. He then took on the role of Vice President, Claims for BELAIRdirect and Intact Insurance (Québec region) between 1999 and 2002. He later then became the Senior Vice-President, Claims from 2002 before being appointed to his current role. Mr. Beaulieu joined ING Group in 1988 as an actuary for Le Groupe Commerce. From 1992 to 1994, he held actuarial positions in Amsterdam and then in 1995 until 1996 he worked in Atlanta in the North American corporate actuarial area. He has been involved in the acquisitions and integrations of companies by ING Canada since the early 1990’s. He is also a director of the Facility Association and of Le Groupement des Assureurs Automobiles. Mr. Beaulieu has a Bachelor of actuarial science degree from LavalUniversity and he is a member of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Alain Lessard , Senior Vice President, Commercial Lines

Mr. Lessard was appointed to the role of Senior Vice President, Commercial Lines, in September 2011. In this role, he is responsible for developing and delivering Intact Insurance's strategy for commercial lines underwriting, pricing and product development. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Lessard served as Executive Vice President, Property/Casualty Insurance at AXA Canada. As such, he oversaw all of AXA’s property and casualty insurance teams and operations in Quebec. Mr. Lessard began his career in 1982 at La Prévoyance, compagnie d’assurance, which later became Boréal Assurances and was acquired by AXA in 1994. Initially responsible for the home sector and then the automobile sector in the Actuarial Services Department, he was subsequently appointed the department head and, in 1988, Manager, Actuarial Services – Corporate. Between 1991 and 1999, he occupied various roles as a vice president before being appointed Senior Vice President, Actuarial Services and Reinsurance, in 2000. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Lessard was the Chief Risk Officer at AXA France. Mr. Lessard holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Laval University and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Monika Federau , Senior Vice President,
Marketing

Monika Federau joined Intact Insurance in May 2010 to lead the marketing function and further develop the Intact brand. She is responsible for developing national advertising, communication and sponsorship strategies to build Intact Insurance’s consumer brand. She also oversees the development of the Intact Insurance web experience for consumers and the research function. Prior to joining Intact, Ms. Federau lived in Hong Kong working for Manulife Financial responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance Manulife’s brand regionally in Asia. Monika began her career in the insurance industry in product development, sales and marketing. She also assumed senior marketing and operations roles at software and e-commerce companies where she was responsible for customer acquisition and revenue generation in Canada, the U.S. and Australia. She also worked for a web consulting firm where her major clients were leading Canadian insurance and wealth management companies. Ms. Federau holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from York University and an MBA from Queen’s University.

Louis Marcotte , Senior Vice President,
Strategic Distribution

Louis Marcotte was appointed to the Executive Committee in May 2012. In his role as Senior Vice President of Strategic Distribution, Louis oversees Intact’s investments in the broker network and the development of financial solutions for the company’s brokers and partners. Mr. Marcotte also provides support in the development of Intact’s corporate strategy and plays an advisory role on the financial considerations relating to the company’s operations. Prior to his appointment, Louis was Treasurer of Intact Financial Corporation with responsibility for Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Treasury. Mr. Marcotte has more than 25 years of progressive international experience in financial management with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, financing, system implementation, public reporting and tax planning. He is a graduate of McGill University, a Fellow of the Quebec Order of CPA’s and serves as board member for Financial Executive International Canada.
