1. Who is Intact Financial Corporation?

Intact is the largest provider of property and casualty (P&C) insurance in Canada, with a market share of approximately 11.0% based on 2009 direct premiums written. We are the largest P&C insurer in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Nova Scotia distributing insurance products under the following brands: Intact Insurance, belairdirect, Grey Power and Canada Brokerlink.

Intact Financial Corporation, formerly known as ING Canada, became a widely-held Canadian company on February 19, 2009 following the completion of a private placement and a secondary offering whereby institutional and retail investors acquired ING Groep’s shares in the company. On Tuesday, May 19, the company’s TSX symbol changed to “IFC”.

2. What insurance products do you offer?

Our business is organized into two product lines: personal and commercial insurance. Our personal insurance business, representing approxiamtely 70% of our direct premiums written in 2009, consists of automobile and property insurance sold to individuals. Our commercial insurance business consists of automobile, property, liability, surety and specialty coverage sold mainly to small and medium-sized commercial clients.

3. How do you distribute your insurance products?

We employ a multi-channel distribution approach. We primarily conduct business through more than 1,800 broker relationships in locations across Canada. We also distribute insurance products directly through belairdirect, as well Grey Power, Canada BrokerLink and other Affiliated Distribution Networks comprised of strategically aligned brokers in which we have an ownership interest.

Yes, we do. We currently pay a quarterly dividend of $0.34 per share. Record, ex-dividend and payment dates can be found under Dividends.

Yes, we do. Shareholders have the option of either participating through their existing broker, if eligible, or otherwise through the Co-Operative Investing Service operated by Canadian ShareOwner Investments Inc.

10. Are dividends paid by Intact Financial Corporation considered eligible dividends for Canadian tax purposes?

Yes, all dividends (and deemed dividends) paid to Canadian residents on our common shares after December 31, 2005 are designated as eligible dividends. Unless stated otherwise, all future dividends (and deemed dividends) paid by the company are designated as eligible dividends.
